12/31/2018 UPDATE: GONE
This 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera (VIN WP0AA29953S621676) has a claimed 81,464 miles and is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over graphite grey leather. The seller states, “All scheduled maintenance, Always garaged, Excellent condition” No word on any IMS/RMS work. Find this one offered here on Autotrader in Flower Mound, Texas for $16,900.
$75K original MSRP Porsche 911 and the seller takes 3 pics, smh. This is why a #firstflatsix buyer is going to steal it though…
2003 was the 2nd year for the updated/facelifted 996. The narrowbody base Carrera had underbody fittings for improved aerodynamics, front and rear bumpers were restyled, but most importantly Porsche gave the Carrera the Turbo’s updated headlights with standard bi-Xenon lamps (no more Boxster look!). The highlight of this car is the GT3 Aero kit though. According to the build sheet it wasn’t born with it from the factory, so make sure you get a good look to ensure its a quality replica. If its a genuine Porsche kit, then congrats, you just scored the steal of the century at $17K.
The wheels on this car are 18″ Carrera II’s and are the lightest stock wheel from the factory. They do appear to have a custom finish on this car. No word on any tire condition.
This Carrera sports a 3.6L M96/03 type producing 320HP. These engines came with a new VariocamPlus system and a new DME that mimics the Turbos minus the boost control. Unfortunately, the M96/03 still suffers from the same IMS issues as the M96/02. The seller claims all scheduled maintenance done, so ask for the paper trail.
The interior is finished in standard “Graphite Grey” partial leather with heated seats and the embedded Porsche Crest in the headrests.
Facelifted, lower mileage 996 with GT3 Aero and all scheduled maintenance for only $16,900? Thats a SCREAMING buy! Ask for the carfax/autocheck and don’t forget that PPI! Make this 996 your #firstflatsix
Something is up with this one, as it is up for sale up and down the West Coast for $23k. I have noticed there are a lot of fake posted on AT of late.
Yeah, we saw it on SoCal CL, scammers typically don’t pay for ads on autotrader, cars.com etc. So buyer beware. Make sure you do your due diligence! Thanks for following and supporting the site!
This one is listed all over the country for a variety of high to low prices. Not sure if it is legit.
Love your site though.
Looking for my first flat six
I saw it is also listed in SoCal CL. Do your due diligence, scammers usually don’t “PAY” for Classified ads on autotrader, cars.com, etc. The scammer could be the CL seller. Buyer beware!
I just bought this car from the guy who bought it in Texas. He drove it from Texas to Los Angeles. I drove it home to Portland Oregon. There is a recipt for the IMS bearing and some other service back in 2015. I’ve since replaced all 6 plugs and coils, and fluids. other than a few minor paint flaws its awesome!
Great News Joe! Was a lot of chatter with this one. Glad it worked out for you!!!! Send some cleaner pics!
