5/13/18 Update: And she’s gone
This 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 (VIN WP0AA299XXS623798) has a claimed 51,871 miles and is finished in a beautiful “Black” over “Boxster Red” leather interior with “Factory Aero”. The seller states, “No issues, no accidents, no warning lights, etc. Need the room for a new vehicle which is on order”. As an added bonus, the listing indicates the IMS/RMS has been addressed. Find this one offered here on Craigslist in Afton, Minnesota for $23,900.

So building upon yesterdays epic “Boxster Red” Bringatrailer auction, we thought this 996.1 deserved some attention. The interior is finished in “Boxster Red” and we here at firstflatsix think it looks fantastic. As if that wasn’t enough, the car is optioned with the full leather interior (back seats, door cards and dash). For those that aren’t fans of the 993 style 4 spoke wheel, this car is also optioned with upgraded 3 spoke variety. A couple carbon bits (handbrake, gear shifter and door sills) complete the interior.
Excuse the listing pics (they’re awful). The exterior is finished in “Black with Clearcoat” and is fitted with the Factory Aero kit.
The factory wheels have been swapped at some point with what appear to be Champion or Champion Replica’s. One thing we aren’t a fan of is the GT3 badging as this isn’t a GT3 and the car was originally optioned with Carrera “delete”
This 1999 996 came stock with a 3.4 liter flat-six pumping out 296 hp. The 1999 Carrera 2 came from the factory with a cable connected throttle as opposed to the electronic throttle “e-gas” that came in 2000+ models. The car is also fitted with a cold-air (hot air) intake and Fister exhausts (nice upgrade). As indicated earlier, the seller states the IMS/RMS has been addressed. Option code sticker is shown in the CL ad. Get a Carfax/Autocheck and don’t forget that PPI! This isn’t the 22K-Mile that sold for $38K on BaT, but at 51K-Miles and a mid-low 20’s ask, we think this has the opportunity to be someone’s firstflatsix.
