Speed Yellow is a love it or hate it color in Porsche circles. We love it! Not to mention, it’s nice to not see a 996 in a sea of Silver, Black and Grey. It was a special order color and according to past window sticker’s we’ve seen, an additional $3K hit to the wallet. We here at firstflatsix think its a great color and looks fantastic on the base Carrera. As a plus, this 996 is equipped with the non-amber front and rear lenses (no egg yolk look here) and for you rear wiper lovers…a rear wiper!
18″ BBS Sport Design wheels are stock from the factory, and while being one of the heaviest stock 996 wheels from the factory, we love the GT3 look they provide. No indication from the seller regarding age/condition of the tires.
The 2000 Carrera came with a 300HP 3.4L flat-six and RWD. No factory LSD (bummer) as it was only offered on ’99 Carrera coupes. The 4 hp increase (296 to 300) from 1999 to 2000 Carrera’s was due to the “e-gas” throttle which was standard in all Carreras save for the ’99 Coupes. “E-Gas” replaced the conventional mechanical cable throttles found in every prior 911 to date (bummer). The selling dealer is claiming that the IMS, RMS and AOS (air oil separator) have all been replaced. In my neck of the woods (NYC metro) thats about a $3K bill from my local indy. Make sure you ask the dealer for the invoice/receipts to verify the claim.
The interior is finished in Black leather. From the sellers pictures, we don’t see the full leather (dash and door cards) nor do we see any supple leather. For having just about 100k miles, the driver seat wear in the sellers pics looks pretty phenomenal. A 3-spoke steering wheel finishes out the interior.
Narrowbody, 300 HP, 6speed, RWD and SPEED YELLOW! Did we mention the IMS/RMS and AOS were done too? Guys, a similar 100k mile speed yellow 996 sold on BringaTrailer a few months ago for $21.5K. This looks to be a buy provided everything we mentioned above checks out. Get that PPI done and enjoy this yellow beauty in a sea of silver and black 996’s. The perfect firstflatsix.
