5/7/18 UPDATE: And she’s gone.
This 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 (VIN NOT IDENTIFIED) has a claimed 45,960 miles and is finished in quintessential Porsche Guards Red. The seller states, “Always garaged and never driven in inclement weather in my 10 years of ownership” and judging by the pics, it shows. No information regarding any IMS/RMS work so be sure to factor that into any negotiations. Find this one offered here on Craigslist in Phoenix, Arizona for $21,500.
The Craigslist ad can be found here in case the listing goes down.
No VIN to go by, but by inspecting the sellers pictures, this one looks good. Judging by the front and rear amber lenses we can assume this was an extremely early build. No pics to tell if an LSD is present but it does appear to be a lightly optioned car.
The ’99 Carrera 2 came with the cable connected throttle as opposed to the computer controlled E-Gas found in other year 996’s. Enthusiasts prefer this as they claim this gives a better feel to the engine and throttle for the driver. The car wears 17″ Twists (shared with the Boxster) that don’t appear to be in bad shape.
The interior is finished in Black partial leather. Pics don’t appear to show either the supple leather or extended leather upgrades. Seats appear to be the base “non sport” seats and the driver seat wear looks commensurate with the claimed 46k miles. The 993 steering wheel is there too.
Base C2, 296 HP, 6speed, RWD and cable connected throttle. What more can you ask for in a Porsche 911? No one “NEEDS” more than that. Be sure to text the seller for the VIN and the option code sticker and take it from there. The perfect firstflatsix.
